NB: Fragrance is a very much a personal interpretation. What one person refers to as ‘nicely fragrant’, another may not. As a guide we use a simple ‘f’ system to denote fragrance.

‘f’ = light or mild fragrance; it will be a mixed reaction as to whether people detect a fragrance of not.
'ff’ = strong; whilst there may be disagreement over the strength or type of fragrance, most people will recognise the presence of a scent
‘fff’ = very strong; the majority of people will be able to determine that a strong fragrance exists and generally agree as to its type ( e.g. fruity, spicy, sweet )

		Australian Women’s Weekly Rose ™	( var. MEIPALEO )
		Released in conjunction with Australia’s iconic magazine to celebrate 75 years of publication. This is a tall bush rose that produces many classically shaped blooms on medium sized stems. The blooms are a rich to sunny yellow and have mildly sweet fragrance. Good for tall hedging and background.

		The best blooms on this variety are breathtaking. Deeply cupped, fluted and ‘old world’, some blooms will open out like large dahlias, but look at home in both modern and heritage gardens. The notable fragrance is variable from medium to very strong, evoking a sweet and spicy citrus. The colour is more a lemon gold, making it a little lighter than ‘Gina’ and the overall growth is shorter. It flowers well. Released in conjunction with Diabetes Australia, its name comes from their quarterly magazine.

		Deep, rich pink, quartered and quilled blooms, in clusters. This rose was released in 2000 to mark the new millennium. Its performance has been nothing short of outstanding, being able to weather all sorts of conditions, especially the heat, and still come up trumps. The strong, healthy foliage creates a thick canopy. It can be trained as a small climber or left alone to grow into a feature colour bush. It is also recommended for hedging.

		This rose was released to celebrate 50 years of the most famous of all roses, Meilland’s ‘Peace’ rose, and also to mark the 50th Anniversary of the end of WWII. The rose is like a mellowed version of the ‘Peace’ rose - honeyed apricot buff where it was yellow, a coppery pink instead of the clearer pink. The ‘Spirit of Peace’ blooms are perfectly formed in the most classical sense. Excellent, long lasting cut flower, with a heady, spiced honey perfume.

		A rose out of left field it was a sleeper in the National Trial Grounds and ended up receiving the Certificate of Merit for the Hardiest Rose 1999. 		A big, boisterous red akin to an enjoyable wine. Deep glowing crimson, quartered and cupped, it is another fine rose in the Romantica range. 		A bright sport of the ever popular Pierre de Ronsard. Beautiful old fashioned creamy white flowers are petal filled, bloom constantly and carry an airy classic rose scent.
